Their culture is enveloped in meals and eating times. Don't try to go shopping between 1 and 4 because all the stores are closed. Everyone goes to eat lunch with their family and take a siesta. Also, they eat dinner around 10pm and go out for ice cream afterwards.
They eat a lot of ham. And rice.
The flamenco also originated in Spain.
Another thing, every part of the country is different. The north versus the south is like travelling to a different country altogether.

Hehe, siesta is not typical in Spain and "some" shops are closed from 13,30 to 17:00...but not for familiar dinner lol. but because there are two sort of laboral turns. Spanish people dont eat much jam or rice, that has no sense, Mediterranean cuisine is more than that, and many Spanish people hate bullfighting; all those are fake topics.
I guess depending on your interests, Spain could mean one thing or another...if you like art, Malaga is the home of Picasso; if you like tradition, you will interest on flamenco and typical Spanish food; and of curse if you are looking for sun, you will find excellent weather and beaches along all the coast.
I can recommend you a website about Malaga so you can get your own ideas.
