I'm on my gap year between my A Levels and starting university (I'm going to be doing French, Spanish and Linguistics).
In January I moved to Spain to au pair for a family there for 6 months. Unfortunately it was awful and I had to come home after 5 weeks. Now I'm in a bit of a pickle. I really want to go back to Spain because I want to improve my Spanish before uni. I have plans for the summer (from the beginning of July) so only have few months free.
I've tried looking for another au pair position but there are very few vacancies at the moment. I'm not sure what else I can do, especially since everything I look at seems really expensive. I have very little money so need to be earning.
There could be 4 million unemployed here later in the year. It's already over 3 million. The Spanish people are desperate for work. You'll be lucky to find anything. You may get bar work, but that is long hours and very poorly paid.
If you have little money, then I suggest you don't come. Everything is not good here right now.

Suggest try 'anyworkanywhere'. Click on Spain. Emmaus International are interested in gap year people, particularly if you're going there to learn Spanish.
