Been there and have friends out there. Lovely countryside (hilly), be sure to visit the fresh lakes (where they draw their water from) although they are almost empty at the moment as there is a drought. Nice villages, typical spain, although again a lot of british have moved in and are buying and selling. Work is hard to get unless you have the money to buy and sell 2 properties at once and/or have a business of some sort. The Spanish do not like english labour. Away from the coast towns are spread out every 20/30 miles and are pretty but sparse and far from england and/or modern. Houses can sometimes come without running water and 'patchy' electrics. But on the plus side the sun will shine ;)

?
Got back on Sunday, fantastic.
It does depend on your plans though.
Granada, Ronda, Terifa and in lots more in between.

About 4 years ago,its cheesy & totally taken over by tourists so not the place to go if you're looking to explore a different culture!

But,having 2 young children at the time we loved it.All we wanted was sun & a nice beach. They had a great water park near by,car rental was cheap & they are very welcoming to children, unlike they are in Britain.

We're definately not too 'snobbish' to go back there one day!

its a more family orientated side of mallorca, very scenic, still places to go for entertainment and eating out, less larger louts

It depends what you are looking for in a holiday resort to be honest. I stayed in the next resort along the coast, Puerto Pollensa which in comparison is a lot less built-up and 'touristy' than Alcudia.

Alcudia is stuffed full of hotels, restaurants and bars. The beach is huge and beautiful - perfect for kids with good swimming/ paddling conditions. The water park is lovely and we spent a couple of whole days there.

If you are looking for something traditional or quiet I would suggest that Alcudia is not the place for you but if you are after a family beach holiday it should suit your needs perfectly.
