Last may the weather was on good form in may! It wasn't boiling hot or anything, but warm enough to go on the beach & go out in the evening without a jacket!

I'm afraid it depends on the weather.

Take you cossie, a brolly and a sweater.

Hire a car for a few days and explore the countryside, it's at its best in May.

A few years ago I visited for the second bank holiday week end in May and it rained almost continuously. I seem to remember someone telling me last may was fine - though I can be 100% on that. I go most years - in my opinion if you like the sun choose July. (August is busy and the second part of the month can be quite variable)
