Anyone been to marbella spain? |
I am going to Marbella near malaga in spain soon and have heard its meant to be very nice. has anyone been there and if so, could you tell me your experience?
Also, I have heard of a port called puerto banus in marbella and from the look of things, it seems like a very flamboyant and ostentatious place. If anyone has been here also then your comments would be appreciated. |

I know the area very well having been there since Puerto Banus was just a few buildings. The same with San Pedro. I've always loved Marbella but there is much more to see and do once you are away from the coast. I live inland about 20 minutes from the beach. Go and see the real Spain.
Marbella is about 40 minutes from Malaga airport. Puerto Banus is halfway to San Pedro from Marbella. Its a lovely walk along the front from Marbella to Puerto Banus.
Puerto Banus is expensive, but if you just go for a coffee or a glass of wine in a bar by the port, you can sit and people watch. You are bound to see someone you recognise.
Enjoy. |

puerto banus sweet place and lots of fun, 1 night club anna Valeria I was there 14 years ago, 50 pounds in, 200 pounds for a bottle of vodka and 6 mixers, but what a place to enjoy. i used to walk down to belamedina most days. will go back one day soon. Charlies is gone now I think, belamedina is lively too. loved the whole area. So much coming back. You will enjoy yourself.
Take care |

Marbella and Puero Banus are the best of Europe, weather wise, food, lovely place, lovely people good area. visit www.marbellaeye.com for info regarding rentals, holidays or search flickr for photos.
Also you can visit Gibraltar for a day with the bus, it is very nice, also Estepona, San Pedro, beaches are very nice.
Spend a day in Fuengirola walk there and eat by the beach side, it is cheaper than Marbella. Enjoy. |

I have been a few times about 6 years ago, Marbella is where the airport is and its ok to visit, Puerto Banus is nice to see but mainly an evening out, where you dress in your most expensive outfit and window shop and watch the million pound yachts - I fitted in well with my pound land shorts and t-shirt and my 99p flip flops and no make up on or jewellery, I preferred Benalmadena or Torremolinos or Feungirola. They are more holiday type places for families than marbella or p. banus |
