Fairy Codswallop

Anyone have some kind of idea what the weather is normally like in Spain in Mid-July?

I know it'll be hot, but does anyone know the average temperature it normally is? And does anyone know a good suncream with insect repellant that works? I don't want to get bitten by mosquitoes. Thanks. Oh I don't remember the place I'll be going to, I think it's La Linea or somewhere near there.

Spain's climate is very diverse and can be divided in the following areas:

The Northern and Eastern Mediterranean coast (Catalonia, Northern Valencia): Mild summers with pleasant temperatures and relatively mild winters. Relatively moist climate, similar to southern France.
The South East Mediterranean coast (Alicante, Almería): Warm summers and mild winters. Very dry semi-desert, rainfall as low as 150mm a year.
Southern Mediterranean coast (Málaga): Warm summers ,very mild winters. Average yearly temperatures close to 20 degrees celsius (subtropical).
The Guadalquivir valley (Seville, Cordoba): Very hot and dry summers and mild winters.
South West Atlantic coast (Cadiz, Huelva): Pleasant summers, very mild winters. Relatively humid.
The interior tableland: Cold winters (depending mostly on altitude) and hot, dry summers. Relatively dry weather (around 600mm per year).
Ebro Valley (Zaragoza): Very hot summers, cold winters. Very dry semi-desert climate.
Northern Atlantic coast (Galicia, Asturias, Coastal Basque country): A very wet climate, with mild summers and winters.
The Canary Islands: subtropical weather, with mild temperatures (18 °C to 24 °C; 64 °F to 75 °F) throughout the year. Very dry in the Eastern islands and mositer in the westernmost ones.

LaLinea (or La Linea de la Concepcion) as its proper name is known, is situated at the tip of southern Spain and is the linking point between Spain and the British territory of Gibraltar. It is part of the province of Cadiz.
In July the average temperature is between 21°C and 23 °C.

Seville in Mid July is about 40to 48 c.
Do not go there unless you like staying in 14 hours a day.
At midnight it goes down to about 30c, so locals live at night during summer months.
If you want to know what it feels like. Go into the bathroom, get your hair dryer, put it on full heat and at about 25 cms form your face. This is 48 to 50c. When it gets past about 45c a wind picks up and this is it. Believe me it is true. I live there!

I think the best sunscreen is the green bottle one from Boots, it's got insect repellent in it. Take a little fan with you too, and a hat, and sun-glasses, and a book to read in case you get sun stroke and need to stay indoors for a bit. The weather in Spain at that time of year will be very hot, more hotter than what you're used to!!! Just be careful and have fun!!!! :D

mid to high 20's i always use seperate sunscreen (ambre soiler) & insect repellant (autan) and burning citronella candle/insense in the villa/apartment keeps insects away.

It;s very hot. I got the worst sunburn of my life there! I still have the scars to prove it. Bring sunscreen that will stay on your skin, because you may sweat a lot.
