Its not much and just be aware that a percentage is added on to the fare as a tip.
So don't be offended if the driver will not accept more they are not allowed, not like our cabbies hey?
We paid about 24 euro but that was a year ago. |

Rather take the train or the bus. Both go right into the center, and from there take a taxi to your final destination. |

Take the Aerobus. It is super cheap and drops you at Plaza Catalunya by a taxi rank.
Do not try to take a train. There has been a serious problem with the building of the high speed train line and the train from the airport does not run until the end of the month, (but nobody expects this to happen on time).
Taxi. I have not used one in years to go to BCN but it will be a max of about 20 Euros. Ask for a receipt, that way they will not rip you off! |

if you are staying anywhere near las ramblas then the best idea is to take the bus which picks up right outside the airport terminal every 5-10 mins or so with placa catalunya written on the top, the bus journey takes around 20 mins or so and also stops near the placa espanya if you are staying anywhere near there. If you are staying closer to one of the main tourist destination outside of the placa catalunya then there would be nothing to stop you getting the bus to placa catalunya and then a tourist bus around the city to get to your destination. As for a taxi, when I get a taxi back to the airport from Las Ramblas costs around 25-30 euros depending on the amount of traffic and how long the journey takes but usually it is less than 20 mins.

They have a minimum fare from the airport for about 15€ (inlcuding airport fee and luggage). But to reach the center will cost more than that so depending on your luggage that can be between 15€ and 50€ (Barcelona is quite big).
Anyway, if you are going to fly in the next weeks take into account there are works on the underground/train lines between the airport and the city so the traffic jams are huge these days.
If not carrying much luggage I would use aerobus that takes you to the center and then, if your hotel is not close enough yet, just use a taxi from there.
