I would agree that most of the music on the radio is from latin american influence. Shakira's album in spanish is quite good.

Amaral is truly the best selling band in Spain now. Other popular bands (mostly rock-pop oriented) are El Canto del Loco, Estopa, Pereza, la Quinta EstaciÃ³n (with mexican influences), La Oreja de Van Gogh (melodic pop/rock), Chambao (mixes pop, electronica, flamenco, middle eastern sounds), Celtas Cortos (pop/rock with celtic influences), El SueÃ±o de Morfeo (also with some celtic sounds)...

Other famous artists are the veterans Miguel BosÃ©, Rosario Flores, Marta SÃ¡nchez (pop dance music), MÃ³nica Naranjo (electronic diva with different influences), JoaquÃn Sabina (folk)... they have different styles.
Famous recent solo artist (pop oriented with different influences): David Bisbal (typical latin-pop), Chenoa, Soraya Arnelas, Merche, Alex Ãšbago, Shaila DÃºrcal, Amaia Monterio, Edurne, David Bustamante...

Although not blockbusters, Hip hop has a lot of fans here. But it works better on concert shows than on album charts since most Spanish rappers are from smaller white labels.
It happens the same with harder rock music and metal, like Extremoduro, Pereza, Los Suaves, Mago de Oz... that kind of music have a laaaaarge fanbase, especially between the younger generations.

On YouTube, look at the channels VALE MUSICA and UNIVERSAL ESPAÃ‘A and you'll find many popular songs that are here, there =)

also each region has their own music... In Madrid Hip-Hop is quite popular where as in BarÃ§a there are lot's of Rappers (in CatalÃ )... here in the North music is usually rock... and metal (in Basque)

But also ... all reggaetÃ³n songs are heard on the radios and most songs that are popular/come from places like MÃ©jico and latin America are here... like Shakira you'll hear on the radio a lot..
NatalÃa...David Bisbal...Chenoa are some people who have won El O.T in Recent years... it is like X Factor =)
