Yes, we have McDonald's, Burger King and KFC in Spain.
There is also a lot of international restaurants in Spain so you can get things like chicken and chips, chops and chips.
But do try some of the Spanish food it is very good.

I hope this helps

Hardly... They have their own amazingly delicious food which is way better than American food.

josiahj91
As in McDonalds!? Yeah, they're worldwide.

Joan el guiri
Yes McDonalds and KFC is present in all main centres.
Dunkin' Donuts exist but the locals do not touch the highly colored exibits.

Real American food, like your mom makes, is only obtainable at friend's homes.

If you are talking about real American food, (which I doubt), you can find restaurants from every country in the Americas.
It is a real foody adventure.

You can't find peanut butter and chili, and it is almost impossible to make Southwest food or Cajun food there.
But you can try very tasty food there, so you can learn new things.

If you are coming to Spain to eat american food then you'd better stay home!

Yes, they have what they consider american food (McDonalds, Burger King, KFC etc) and they also have chinese restaurants and mexican restaurants. The problem is that the food prepared in these places doesn't taste like it does at home. MickeyD's burgers are different, there is no sesame chicken like we know it and the mexican food isn't the same either (did you know that the word "taco" in Spain is actually a slang word that means "profanity"??)

If you go to Carrefour, one of the largest grocery stores, you can find things similar to American foods: Kelloggs cereals, hot dog rolls, pringles chips etc. And they are similar, but not exact.

As far as the ketchup problem that a previous poster mentioned-----yes! they have ketchup in spain. I don't know how good their spanish or cultural awareness is, but Spanish people think that there is a difference between ketchup and tomate frito. Ketchup has more sugar. If it doesn't have the same sugar content and come in a container labeled "ketchup" then they don't consider it ketchup. But if you know to ask for tomate frito, you get pretty much the same thing. Why do some restaurants not carry the "authentic stuff"??? 2 reasons: 1. some places consider the frito stuff to be better 2. the ketchup is more expensive

Hope this helps. I also hope that you will spend time in Spain hunting down awesome Spanish food, not the american gunk. :-)

of course american food is served in spain.
I came back from spain a couple months ago and american food is easy to find.
They have Starbucks, Mc Donald's, Burger King..etc.
if you're looking for american food at an actual restaurant, they're sure to have that too, or at least something close to it.
Just make sure to bring your own ketchup.
I was in a restaurant where i had breaded chicken and fries.
I asked the waiter for Ketchup, and said they didn't have any. how can you NOT have ketchup in your restaurant when you're serving fries!!!!!
it's like an insult to fries everywhere.
and i'm fluent in spanish, so i know the waiter understood me just fine. we were in Madrid where spanish is actually spoken, but in Barcelona, you're spanish is no good there...hardly anyone speaks spanish there.

.
i hope not
