It's true that in France you can find squat toilets quite commonly, but in Spain there are normal toilets in all places. They are generally very clean, especially in the big cities, but it is not common to find public toilets. However, as there are more bars per square mile in Spain than any other country what you do if you are caught out is have a drink or something in a bar and use the toilet. They generally don't like to let you use the toilet without doing so.
You won't find bidets in public toilets, but every private house will have them.

Xabier
No... We have Bidets though like you said, but a Normal toilet.

But some places on the French border near Barça you'll find squat toilets.

They are suppose to be better for you no ?

Steve of Scotland
No Spain has the usual toilet facilities in place.

jhurd67
maybe and if not u can still squat there has been some glue on toilet seats now and then

Emily H
Um...I don't think so. Haha. I thought that was more of an asian thing...

Jane S
What the devil is a squat toilet????

They have the same sorts of toilets as most other industrialized nations have! Do you think you are going to some third world country? Not Spain! If that's what you want, I can point you in the right direction, but no. Not if I am understanding what you mean.

*edit* Europe doesn't have anything "fancy" for toilets...they have ordinary toilets, as you probably see in decorating magazines, etc. Just like all of the Western, Industrialized world. A "loo" is just the British slang for a bathroom, and a bidet actually has nothing to do with toilets...that's a sort of low sink for washing off your bottom after using the toilet. THOSE are common in most places that are not, like, public restrooms; you wouldn't find one in a bar or restaurant or school, you know?

Psychotic Froot Loop
Odd question. I like it.
