Argentina's most northern point is in the province of Jujuy at 41º26' South.
Spain's most southern territory is the canary island of Hierro at 27º38' North. Continental Spain most southern point is at Tarifa at 36º00' North.
This shows that Spain is closer to the ecuator than Argentina.
Taking into account that 1º=111325kms=69174miles you can calculate the distance to the ecuator.

This means that Argentina is closest to it. However, since Spain is influenced by the Gulf Stream, it is usually hotter than Argentina. Argentina also has a far more closer point to the south pole than Spain to the north pole.
