Like everyone else has said... if your from England then it's like Scotland... it's a Nation with in a Nation... but you don't have a regional passport... but diffrent laws' & languge & we're usually once part of your own Kingdom

P.S Navarra isin't an Anotomous community it's more because it's Nafarroako Foru Erkidegoa... which is the Foral Community of Navarre... make's us that little more special =)... it just mean's your can make some more "drastic" laws... with out too much intervention from the Main Govement... for example... if you wanted to kick all the people out of the city's & you got voted into Govement you'd have more chance in Navarra than the rest because you have that little more control about what goes in your region

An autonomous community is a first-level political division of the Kingdom of Spain, established in accordance with the Spanish Constitution. The second article of the constitution recognizes the rights of "regions and nationalities" to self-government and declares the "indissoluble unity of the Spanish nation". Currently, Spain is divided into 17 autonomous communities and two autonomous cities.
The other man is wrong.. i dont think hes spanish...
an autonomous community is similar to a US state... each autonomous community has got its own capital nd laws (just like US).
The autonomous communitties r:
Galicia (capital: santiago), asturias (capital: oviedo), cantabria (capital: santander), basque country (capital: vitoria), navarre (capital:pamplona), aragon (capital:zaragoza), la rioja (capital:logronio), catalonia (capital: barcelona), valencia autonomous community (capital:valencia), murcia (capital: murcia city), andalucia (capital: seville), madrid autonomous community (capital: madrid), castille-la mancha (toledo), castille-lyon (valladolid), extremadura (merida), canary islands (santa cruz/ gran canaria). balearic islads (mallorca) nd the cities of ceuta nd melilla (in morocco)...

It's roughly similar to a State in the US.

they have their own government, and certain things are covered in the Regional government, different things are controlled by the Federal or Central government, and still different things are controlled in the provincial governments (roughly similar to our counties)

It's a bit like the various states in the USA, but Spain has bigger ones. Like for example, Catalonia is an autonomous community within Spain - it has it's own government and own language (Catalan) but ultimately Spain makes the big decisions. Another example is the Basque country in the north - same deal. Both autonomous communities would be preferred to be recognised as countries within their own right, but I can't see that happening for a long time.
