Barcelona for a long w'end , good cheap typical restaurants?
We're visiting Barcelona for a long weekend and looking for some ideas for eating out. We'll be staying near the Sagrada Familia.
The food in barcelona is fantastic - and very reasonable. I have the details of four or five restaurants at home - from a recent trip- when I get there this evening I'll update this post with the details. For starters, there is a 200 year old fish restaurant on the sea front - by the harbour, - which is excellent - fresh seafood, great reputation. Hang on and I'll get the names.... see you soon!
Main tip is to avoid the ramblas - a real tourist taunt -(bit like eating at Garfunkels in Leicester square if you come to London) and eat in the Eixemple district - which is nearer to the Sagrada Familia anyway - that is where all the locals eat. Watch this space!

Burger king...yummy! you need to get a code for the toilets though.

There are some restaurants in that area. One is right in the southwest corner, crossing the street (it looks old, but I can't remember the name).
However, your best bet is going downtown, to the Barri Vell (old town), left side down the Ramblas. There are lotsa shops and some good restaurants (some are not that cheap, though).
