west of the port the beaches are very touristy, mostly brits (and germans), and expensive. but good sand and good water.
the beaches east of the port are really nice, but the water is not so clear and the sand is a little bit grey, not golden. consequently they are less touristy, lots of spanish holidaymakers but fewer brits.
el palo is our favourite. great chiringuitos!

oo yer we got great beaches.... i live in sabinillas (its a town of malaga) look it up on google maps.
but if you want great beaches then tarifa is "THE" best. its about and a half away from malaga but the beaches are white and just beautiful... the beach is kilometers and kilometers long. they also have nudist beaches on each end of the beach lol...
buts its something you just cant miss

Málaga beaches aren't brilliant. They are better when you go west to Fuengirola or La Cala de Mijas, but the best beaches are at Nerja, which is an hour's drive to the east. They have an award winning beach at Burianna Beach.
The beaches south of Huelva, near to Mazagon are fantastic. 35 kilometres of uncrowded beaches. Lovely golden sand. |
