I have to say that this question looks like similar questions made by a recently banned Yahoo Answers member, saying that Spanish people might try to kill him because he's black.

But if you're not this same person, the answer is easy, No. Spaniards won't try to "get you" no matter what your nationality. They're a largely passive people and have had integration with other cultures for longer than the United States has even existed.

Knowing Pau Gasol, whether true or not (maybe not since you misspelled his last name), probably won't make any difference in how they'll treat you but if you have a good story and can explain it in Spanish they may be more interested in you than they would be otherwise.

Saludos, BarcelonaMan(.com)

Do you think Spanish people are savages? It´s an European country, and there´s quite a lot of immigrants here. And as a person, you are free to live wherever you feel like.
As long as you pay your taxes, work, respect our culture and language you´ll be welcome. If you don´t think about doing this, stay where you are.Sorry, but it´s the truth.A lot of immigrants think they can just come here and live without working.
We Spanish have to pay our taxes (quite a few by the way),our social security, our houses etc...and we expect you do the same...
Saludos
If you just come for holidays,I can´t see why you shouldn´t be treated alright. We are very open minded towards tourists...Spain is a very tourist area...
I have never seen any problems here.

DO you know Pau Gosal (I assume some fĂştbol player that is popular, there?) If you don't, then it will only make people mad...no one likes to be lied to...if you do, it will probably impress the people you become friendly with, but I wouldn't expect much more.

You will probably be treated with as much friendliness as anyone else, since it will be clear right off the bat, that you are not one of their illegal African immigrants who are (much like the illegals in the US) trying to get from the system without putting anything into it.

this girl
I don't think they would hurt you but from what I have saw on documentaries and heard from people of this culture they look down on dark skin. Even my Spanish teacher ( from Spain) was a little put off by the fact that mi ideal novio es moreno ( my ideal boyfriend is dark) I chose the word "moreno" which means dark and he marked a point off and I asked him why I got this wrong and he look confused that I would want a "moreno."
I shouldn't have gotten any points marked off for that he asked us to describe physically how we would want a mate to look.
