it depends what you want to get from a holiday if you don"t enjoy Benidorm?well there is something wrong as it caters for everyone there is lots to do places to visit ,so many bars, and restaurants,to choose from discos, short trips outside Benidorm and your in Spain, people are so friendly go for yourself and see don't listen to anyone might not be there cup of tea might not mean its not yours go and enjoy, and if you had a rotten time well you are very hard to please and should stay at home?

In the winter you get retired visitors on long stays.

In the summer, the young people and families.

Benidorm is often criticised. But, if it's so terrible, why do visitors return year after year, making it one of Spain's top resorts?

Horrible. Over-blown resort. Yuk!!

Benidorm has got a lot better in recent years, as it was full of the typical Brithish tourist everyone hates.
It has some great beaches, great hotels and the night time entertainment is the best on any of the costa's.

Have a look through these and what this lot thought of the place.

Benidorm is one of the symbols of the Spanish tourist growth, the small village of fishermen and farmers, which had 2.000 inhabitants at the beginning of the century, has grown into one capable of lodging 5.000.000 visitors a year. Theme parks, tennis, squash, golf, athletics, go-karts, paragliding, swimming, sailing, motor boats, rowing, fishing and deep sea diving are just some of the activities that Benidorm and its surroundings offer.

I don't know what your question is. If you mean what I think of it, I can tell you I think is one of the ugliest places I've ever seen. In Spain we make fun of it, and we even have a say so related to old people, because is the sort of place were they go. Actually the Government gives them really good bargains for them to spend holidays there. It's also known for being full of English and German tourists who go there to get drunk because alcohol is cheap and also to get burned in the beaches that could have been pretty but are not because of the huge ugly buildings surrounding it. It's so ugly that an old cousin of my father tried to invited us to spend some days in her house, and my father was as fast as a Formula 1 car to refuse. It took ages to wipe he horror from his face.

NOTE: if you do go I suggest you not to have sex in the beach. It was shown in TV the other day that some perverts enjoy to tape the couples and then load it in the Internet. Or just watch and touch themselves...Ugggg

Yes it is. Depends on what type of holiday you are looking for. The weather is usually very hot in July and August. The beach is very clean and flat, although it can be very busy. Sea bathing is good with no real dangers. Plenty of restaurants, bars, etc which sell cheap food and drinks. Hundreds of shops, but most sell cheap holiday type of clothes and souvenirs. Night life is very good for young people but watch out for the lager louts in some areas. In general you should have a good time depending on where in Benidorm you are staying, its a large resort. We often drive down just for half a day and enjoy the atmosphere (we live 35 miles north of Benidorm.)

I like benidorm, but if your going out for the day, i suggest going in-land!
Spain is a gorgeous country.
Also, you can take a brand new tram, that runs all the way down the coast...magnificant.
It ends at Alicante.
Alicante is a modern town, that's where you fly to, i presume?
Lovely place with quaint streets with tapas bars and cafes all over...
Lovely place
