You can get the Train to the beach in AlmerÃa City... from Madrid and the beach there only has Castellanos on
It's quite a nice "faux playa"
but roquetas de mar.... it becomes FULL of people but it has one of the highest rating beaches in AlmerÃa... I've never been to Nerja =P Sorry... |

Nerja is very pretty. The beach is very very pretty and mostly empty (compared to other spanish beaches).There is only one decent hotel though right on the water. It is mostly full of old british tourists. |

You already have it! I have been reading other posts, and always knew that most of the Costa del Sol is overrun with tourists. But somehow, Nerja seems to have become lost to the bustle...still looks (and according to acquaintances who have lived there) pristine, and cute, and quiet and very Andaluz. You might also look at the Costa de la Luz. It's the Atlantic side of the Andaluz coast. Clean and quieter, different feel to the beaches. But also a good option.
If you want Mediterranean, go for Nerja.
And go to Ronda, while you are there, and Granada, too, if you have the time. |
