Best way to get from Tarifa, Spain to Cordoba, Spain?

so i'm planning a trip with my friend to go to morocco, and we're planning on going home from a flight to madrid. so we're taking a ferry from tanger to tarifa, and from tarifa we want to get to cordoba, stay there for a day, and then spend the rest of our time in madrid

we were going to go to sevilla, but decided against it because we'd rather see cordoba since it looks so unbelievably beautiful (not that sevilla isn't, but just that sevilla's main draw seems to be flamenco, which we don't have money to see).

best way to get there?? cheapest??

i know hitchhiking would be cheap/free. my friend and i are averagely street smart (but also young) city girls...we can, for the most part, take care of ourselves i think. would it be SUPER extremely dangerous for my friend and i to hitchhike from tarifa to cordoba or tarifa to cadiz or somewhere along that route??

thanks for your help!!

Catch the Code. 309 "Comes" bus from Tarifa to Algeciras, a 25 minute ride, for about 2 euros. The first one is at 1225hrs, arriving in Algeciras at 1300hrs. You can then take the 1515hrs train from Algeciras to Cordoba. The journey time is about 3hrs 15mins and the cost 35.20euros.
Hope this helps.

Since you already got the direction to Sevilla I just start from there. From Sevilla to Cordoba there are different train types with different prices.
Various highspeed trains without intermediate stops, taking 41-42 minutes for €25.50-28.30 depending on departure time.
The AVANT, also direct, just taking 3 minutes longer, but with €14;40 at almost half the price
The Andalusica Express with 4 intermediate stops, taking 1 hour and 20 minutes for € 8,20

Departures:
Andalusica Express: 07:50; 09:00; 13:25; 15:00; 18:48; 20:15
AVANT: 06:50; 08:00; 09:20; 12:30; 15:40; 17:55; 19:35; 21:35

Edit:
Cost comparison
via Sevilla 31.30€ or 25.70€
via Algericas: 37.20€

No. Its not dangerous to hitchhike near tarifa, but it will take you some time to find someone doing the ride.. The problem is that it will take you several rides to go to Cordoba. If you really want to hike I would recommend to go from Tarifa to the Jerez, Cadiz or Sevilla and take a bus from there.
Anyway, buses are not so expensive, so it will be easier to go by bus.
