Breakfast foods from Spain?

I'm doing a spanish project for school and I need a couple of ideas of some foods that people eat for breakfast in Spain. Thanks!

Café con leche y pan tostado. Period. Most of the time, they put butter on the toast, or give you some. In some places you can get olive oil, and in some you can also get Paté (yum!) Many places will also offer you ham, for a bit more, but it isn't all that common for the locals to have that. And, in fact, the coffee is called a Café desayuno...a little more milk than later in the day.

They also serve churros and porros (similar, but a bit thicker and sturdier) with chocolate, in a lot of places.

Sometimes you can get a little sweet bread like a Madalena (orange flavored muffiny cakey treat).

What you think of as breakfast in the US or Britain is totally NOT what you would find typically in Spain...you will find American breakfasts at hotels and in places that cater to tourists, but if you want to do like the Spanish do...that's it.

ive been to spain twice and they eat a continental breakfast ( small , light breakfast) toast , coffee, i had cereal once, and churros with hot chocolate. they dont eat a big breakfast like we do in the usa...like bacon, eggs, pancakes, waffles...etc. breakfast is realy light and lunch for them is the biggest meal of the day . hoped this helped,

I have lived in Madrid for 18 years and I can tell you exactly what they have for breakfast here.
A normal breakfast in a bar would be café con leche (milky coffee) with a piece of baguette toasted and with olive oil on top(not butter) or a croissant (more bready than the French one), or a bready, sugary cake (there are many types). In many places, particularly in Madrid, you can also ask for churros (fried doughy "sticks") or porras (a bigger version) to dip in your coffee or thick, hot chocolate. The hot chocolate is usually reserved for "Tea" around 6 in the evening, though.
At home, people usually have cereal or just coffee. And they sometimes toast day-old bread, when they have a bit more time.

Hmmm, When I was in Spain I only had coffee with a slice of toast and jam or a churros which often served with chocolate. That's how I experienced breakfast in Spain.

The locals eat churros with hot chocolate, or just have hot chocolate by itself. Cafe con leche (white coffee) is popular, either alone or with a fresh bread roll or toast with olive oil.

Big breakfasts are rarely eaten except by tourists in hotels!
