CAN I DRIVE IN SPAIN? HELP! SPAINSH RESIDENTS HELP APPRICIATED?

I'm going off to Spain in June for a few weeks and will be staying at a relatives house. Anyway I'm 17 with a full British driving license and was wondering can i drive their car if they put me on the insurance?

I know you have to be 18 to get a license in Spain, but seeing as i have a British (and essentially an EU) driving license does that mean i can?

Thanks for the help

The best thing to do is to check it with your insurance company.
If there is a problem, they will know about it. If it is allowed (which I doubt) expect to pay a hefty surcharge though because of your age!

No, You're U.K Driving lisence won't allow you to drive until your 18

but you won't have to re-take the test because you all ready have a valid E.U Driving lisense

17 You might be able to rent a scooter or quad, they are 14 to drive, But I think you might still need to be 18... =/

but you wouldn't be able to rent a car here until your 21/25+ because no one would lend you their cars

Come back where you're 18, and drive here ^^, have a nice vacation

p.d no they wouldn't be able to put you on their insurance until you're 18

You are too young to drive in Spain. Spanish insurance companies will not allow you to drive, irrespective of your driving licence. I doubt being 18 would make a difference. In any case, your relative's insurance would have to have a loading on their policy. You being a young foreign driver, the cost would outweigh the benefits.
Here in Spain the mortality rate on the roads is very high. The vast majority of those deaths are young drivers. Because of that, insurance companies are tightening their rules and regulations.
