if you live inside the E.U then you don't need an international licence
some car companies are 21 others are 24-25
so look... they say on their websites what age you must be =) |

If you are American, the only thing you need to do to get an international license is to go have another passport photo done, fill out a simple application and submit it with $10.00. It no longer means anything except they translate your information into several langauges. I believe the photo is simply stapled onto the cover...It's terribly unofficial...I got mine at the AAA.
You SHOULD have one, but it is not required. They didn't check mine when I picked up the car...only my passport. I don't even think they checked my US license! But when I was stopped by the police, they didn't like something about my international, and I had to show them my US license, anyway...it was silly. |

You need to have an international license. You don't say what country you are from so I don't know how you get one for your country. When you go to get your international license they should know what the requirements are in each country.
I would say yes. I rented vehicles in Europe when I was between 21-25 with no problem. The key is to have an international license though! |

You may need to apply for your international licence. However, this is not always necessary if you are only travelling over on holiday. Many countries accept the licence from where you qualified as a driver for the first 3 months of your trip.
It will be no problem hiring a car but be aware of different motoring laws and street signs. So do a little bit of research first. But as the spanish drive on the same side as americans, you should pick it up easy enough! |
