there are 2 parts to La Marina - the actual town (very small, but got all the basics but does have a great beach). The other part and has to be said is larger than the actual town is the urbanisation (giant concrete housing estate!). Many "Brits" either live there full time or have holiday homes there, as do lots of other Europeans.
Whilst it suits many people - ideal for family based summer holiday if the property has a pool etc, there are lots of bars and everyday restaurants nearby - it may come as a shock to some when they arrive. It is huge and sprawling, sort of in the middle of nowwhere and a car is essential.
I am not acutally running it down, but being realistic - if I was to go there on holiday, I would initially be shocked until I adjusted to the surroundings, the weather would be the saviour - but at this time of year as others have said mornings and evenings are COLD and real warm sunshine, whilst is present nearly every day, is not guaranteed. |

Although we have never visited there , our friends and two children spent their holiday there last summer and had a ball. |

Hi. You missed out the last bit of your sentence!
The weather at the moment is sunny during the day and going up to around 20 degrees. However, at night and early in the morning, you will want to wrap up warm because it can go down into the single figures with wind chill factor from the sea probably making it feel colder.
There are English supermarkets and shops.
It is quite an English area so you will find that in many bars and restaurants, only English is spoken.
What more do you want to know? |

Well, the weather around this time in Alicante is from 40 to 60 degrees. There is La Marina beach. It is an urban town. There is The Archeological Museum MARQ. For churches, there are the San Nicholás cathedral (16th century), chapel of communion, Santa MarĂa church, and the Santa Faz monastery.
There are many many really good restaurants, so don't worry about that.
For shopping:
They recommend typical products such as salted fish and meat, turron from Jijona, chocolate from Villajoyosa or Elda, sweet wine from Fondillon. Also 'la coca de mollitas' and 'la coca amb toyna' which can be bought in patisseries.
Hope I helped! |
