Your question needs more info.
my cousin has iberbanda... is sh!t...they lose connection oftern
you're speaking of Mobile broadband ?? because you don't say if you live here, legal or ilegal...
if your from the U.K then you could get a resident or home-owning permit easily... visit the town hall or police station and ask them what to do
if you want Mobile Broadband pre-pay from Vodafone
http://www.vodafone.es/particulares/tarifas/internet-en-movilidad/modem-usb/bonos-prepago/
It will be around 59€ a month if you're going to have pre-paid
You won't be able to get a contract with an English Band account
visit the Vodafone store and ask for a Módem Pre-pago, they are quite expensive, if you have a Netbook with built in 3G for example you can use a standad Sim Card from Vodafone España. (around 60€ but it will vary from store and promotion)
So they will give you the Modem and Sim Card, on your way home from the store or in the store recharge the Sim Card with =/... I don't know the tax rate anymore because I have contract. When you rechagre the phone for example with 15€ you will pay 15€ but only recive 11,55€ because you get charged %16 tax
So you must do the Math, %16 + 60€ = put this amount onto your Sim Card
once you get home install the Modem into your PC, then send an SMS from the Sim Card in the Modem to 2207 with the words C MES
You will get un-limited internet for one month
--once you use 1GB it will become slower, but they won't charge you extra.
the Modem can be set up quick, basic to install onto the PC and plug into the usb and instert the Sim Card
if you register the Sim Card - you MUST now, only with you Spanish Address (make-up one!) and your Passport number... it is for action against terrist, because the Madrid Train Bombings were used with pre-paid phones, so now everyone must be registered
^^, I should work for The Phone House with all this info xD (also maybe visit them because they might have a pre-pago modem promotion)
p.d in the Balear's Vodafone stores are called CMM, you didn't say where you will be. there is a way to check the signel on their website in your town, but I forget ^^, |

Wow. Xabier should indeed work for Phonehouse, with all his info he has given you. He is correct. You will find it impossible
1. to pay using a uk bank account
2. to get them to send anything to the uk
Crikey we are lucky if things arrive in Benidorm!!
You do, as Xabier says, HAVE to register your Spanish mobile now, all to try and stop fraud etc.
Is it worth all the hassle? for a few months. I know it's a pain when you live in a rural area if you are used to internet etc, but that can also be a Godsend at times!
good luck (give the points to Xabier, he deserves them) |

I don't know for sure but I doubt you could set it up without a Spanish bank account. It is not easy to set up a Spanish bank account as it used to be - I understand you now need proofof being a resident (residencia) or a certifiate of non residence.
For mobile coverage, the two main companies are Movistar and Vodofone. In some areas Movistar will have a better coverage and in other areas Vodofone will come out the best.
Unless you already know what works in the area you are going to (particularly as it is rural) it would be a good idea to wait until you get there and do some research or tests.
Another option in some rural areas is a microwave link with a company called Iberbanda. For this you need "line of site" with a nearby mast, and the signal is recieved by a flat antenna approximately a foot square. Again you need to find out if this is available in your area. |

I would definitely avoid Movistar (operated by Telefonica).
I would suggest you make contact with somebody in your nearest village/town and ask them which operator offers the best coverage.
You will need though need to open a Spanish bank account and yes as has been mentioned, the rules to do that have changed.
The information you have been given is excellent. |

I have vodafone mobile broadband but I think it could be expensive to use in Spain but you don't need a phone, you would have to contact vodafone on that score. Also when I was in Spain last year they had Wi Fi perhaps you could look at that avenue.Hope this helps |
