In placa reial (plaza real) just off the Ramblas, there is a cool 2 bed appt which cost £200 for 3 days. It has 2 bedrooms with 2 single beds in each, so it's cheaper than most hotels especially if there are 4 of you. It's very central, and you also get free entry to the best nightclub in Barcelona (in the same building), which is very exclusive and almost impossible to get into. The owner is sound as well.
Message me and I'll send details of the appt and club.

Most visitors stay in or near the Ramblas or in the Gothic Quarter just to the east. This is a good base from where you can explore the city's sights by day including Gaudi's masterpiece, the unfinished Sagrada FamÃlia Cathedral, and Parc Güell in the north. Or maybe visit the 98,000 seater Nou Camp stadium the home of Barcelona football club. See http://www.spain4uk.co.uk/places/barcelona.htm for more details
