Can anyone recommend a nice central hotel in Madrid?

I am visiting Madrid with my mother in June, and am looking for a cheap and cheerful quiet hotel close to tourist attractions, restaurants, metro station. What is the best area/street or hotel that is not too noisy, yet close to these amenities? I don't want to spend more than €100 per night per room.
