Can anyone recommend a resort in either Majorca or Tenerife for families?

I was thinking about either Alcudia in Majorca or Los Cristianos in Tenerife. There will be myself (27yrs) my boyfriend (33yrs) my mam (50yrs) and my little boy (3yrs). I really want stuff for my little boy to do as he gets bored really easily and myself and boyfriend would like to do stuff like jet skiing, water parks etc.

We would probably be going for the first week in September 2009 from the UK. Any recommendations would be really helpful, especially any hotels. We would ideally like to be in a central location close to abit life (bars, restaurants & the odd nightclub).

Majorca:- Alcudia or Porto Pollensa, both possible locations.

Tenerife:- Playa Paraiso as mentioned by somebody else, definitely not.
Los Cristianos, San Eugenio, Porto Colon, Playa Torviscas or Playa Fanabe probably good locations for you to look at in Tenerife.

Bougainvilla Apts in Sa Coma, Majorca is fab accomodation and resort for kids. Our little boy was three when we went there and it was sept time as well.

Definitely Alcudia or Puerto Pollensa in Majorca. They are to the North of the island and are basically family resorts. Alcudia has a beautiful mile long beach, which it is famous for - and watersports are easy to come across.

Avoid Palma Nova, Magalluf in Majorca and Playa De Las Americas in Tenerife.

Port de Pollenca in Mallorca. It is quieter than Alcudia. But less touristy. Hire a car and explore the East coast.

I have never been there to stay myself but I would recommend Alcudia. My brother, his wife, mother in law and my parents started to go there when my nephew was about 3. Sadly my dad passed away but he had some of his best family holidays there. My nephew is 11 now and they all went there again last year. My husband and I went there for a day and it is beautiful. Lovely big safe, sandy, beach. You can fish, plenty of places to eat. They only had one problem when they had someone climb in from the balcony and stole a camera but I believe that is a rare occurrence. You should be OK in a hotel complex. Majorca is a beautiful place for holidays.

I wouldnt take kids to tenerif, majorca is fantastic, Santa Ponsa is great for everyone, The Hotels Pionero, Playa Santa Ponsa or Hisperia Playa, from Scotland they will cost just under £500 each half board, from London about £400 each half board

In Tenerife, there is a small quiet resort called Playa Paraiso, it is only down the road from the main resorts - Playa de las Americas, and los cristianos. A water park called Aqualand is only down the road. The beach is next to the resort. There are some nice quiet hotels in the area, plus a some local shops.
Have a nice holiday if you go Tenerife
