I am who I am.

I would seriously doubt it.
It is the usual policy of many EU governments that people coming in from outside it's borders, have at least six months to run on their passport.
The only exceptions I can think of to this would be in humanitarian or asylum seeking cases.
However, that would obviously, not be a holiday. |

I would say probably not - they usually say you need 3 or 6 months
Try the website of the Spanish Embassy in your city/country. They will be able to help you more. |

Some countries such as the US require that your passport have at least 6 months validity. South Africa, requires that you have at least 2 blank pages.
This isn't normally the case within the EU (for EU residents) where a passport is valid until it has expired. According to the British Embassy:
"A valid British passport must be held for entry to and exit from Spain. There is no minimum passport validity requirement but you should ensure that your passport is valid for the proposed period of your stay."
So, your passport expires in two weeks, you will have no problem travelling to Spain before then. No risk at all. So don´t worry about it.
The issue is when will you be returning to the UK?
If a passport expires when you are in Spain, they will let you travel back to the UK, but not to any other country.
The passport office recommends that you do not travel with a passport that will expire during your stay, but passport control are obliged to let you return to your home country - if you have any problems remind them of this. |

i would call first and ask. u can renew it, and could even get it with in 72 hrs if u do all the paper work and send it overnite or express mail. some places even do it the same day but i think u have to call for an appt. jus call first to make sure, because they might not accept it since it expires soon. here the website that might help, and it has the phone number.

No. If you don't have at least 6 months left on the date of your return, then you shouldn't be able to travel within the E.U. |

No airline will let you leave the UK on an out of date passport so Emma C is wrong IF you are travelling by airline.
I agree with Twig step, that is a full and reliable answer. |

hmm not sure they like to have 6 months remaining on it.. i know this is stupid but passport offices and restrictions ect are weird... |

Nope my daughter is going away with her school in a few weeks and was told she needed at least 6 months on her passport. Hers only took a week to come back from the passport office cos it was a renewal :-) |

They ask you for 6 months (some people with less time get lucky and allow to enter but this is just due to a lack of security and not a rule).
But even if you are allowed to enter Spain, on your way back you wont be allowed to enter any plane for the US if your passport have expired or is about to; most likely you will spend a week dealing with inmigration, the US embassy plus the not-so-happy airport security people. |

It depends ENTIRELY on where that passport is from. I was recommended NOT to take my US passport to Spain if I was going to be returning less than six months before the expiration date. I had exactly 6 months, two weeks when we left FOR Spain, and 5 months, two weeks for our return date. I was told to renew it. I figured, I was only going to renew it six months later, anyway.
I wouldn't risk it. |

Why not ask your travel agent or airline, they will tell you. Judging by the answers on here, nobody really seems to know. Better to get the "correct" advice. |

Yes you can in fact you can travel to Spain on an outdated passport, however you can not travel to Portugal, my son arrived at the airport, he holds a British passport, and we had not noticed his passport was out of date, we lived in Portugal at the time, he could only fly to Spain, then cross the boarder by road, (no boarder control between) it was the airport who told us that you can travel to Spain on an out of date passport, phone them and ask. |

Why not?
Its still in date isn't it?
How can they refuse it when it is still valid?
Its a bit like asking if you can use a credit card to pay a bill when the card will expire in 2 weeks. |
