It depends which card scheme your card is asccoicated with. Visa and Mastercard are likely to be accepted. Amex and Diners unlikely. As for charges, your card issuer will be able to tell you their charges.

rugratshd
Providing it is visa or mastercard no problems - check your card issuers terms and conditions for fees and exchange rates.
Get Nationwide account and use their debit card - no feesand 'midrate' for exchange rather than the AMEX rate all other card issuers use. This would mean you would get around 3.5% more euros for you £ than other card issuer/cash exchanger! Quite a big saving

rtorto
That depends on what kind of card you have. Contact your local branch.

check out the gm.tv website, martin Lewis was talking about it on TV this morning and he said do not use your debit card as it is very expensive it is best to use visa if you pay it off when it comes in.
