It is probably more like living where you are than you think. We all have the same pressures of work, school, kids etc but the climate is better. Dont get the idea this is paradise...its not.

wow, that's a difficult qstion. It depends on the city and the region. Tell me how it is living in your country and maybe i can help you

I have lived here in southern Spain for the last 36 years... The climate is the best in Europe... The people are friendly and fairly nice on general terms, the food is excellent.
Although things have become more difficult, as everywhere else all over the world in recent times. I'd say this is still one of the best places to live. It is still a country where people ENJOY living...

It is Brill ! Wouldnt go back to UK for nothing!Cost of living is cheaper, but the wages arn't as high as UK. Theres lots of jobs this time of year (tourist related) bit more difficult in winter months, unless you have a skill.

It can be an adventure or a nightmare, I have had a bit of both. In general it is a beautiful place to be, but a little knowledge of the language is very important. There are many places to explore if you dare come away from the coast. There are fiestas all year round some local and others international such as the San Javier Jazz festival next month in Murcia. If you need to work (as others have stated) it is quite difficult if you don't have the lingo. Dentists and Doctors have to be paid for if you don't have private insurance or a proper work contract, or are a pensioner. Hope this helps. Finally I love it.

Well, it does depend on where you live, if you live among the Spanish or among the expat community. Knowing Spanish is a big help. If you live here and work for a foreign company life is pretty good. If you look for work here and live on Spanish salary, you may find it more of an adventure.
The weather is certainly sunny and warm on the Costas, but much of the interior has rain, snow, cold just like anywhere else. People are more laid back in general and work isn't the top priority. They love fiestas and holidays and gatherings in the street. Spanish cuisine is very good, lots of fish, shellfish, wonderful vegetables, chicken, lamb home-grown. It's a great place for people who like outdoor activities.

Work comes and goes with the seasons and the economy. It is not uncommon to be in and out of work regularly, even if you have a diploma from your country. Someone summed it up this way, to live in Spain you need to have an entrepreneurial spirit.

Well, Im looking out of my window at work and its beautiful and sunny. The climate is great but it does get cold in the winter but not as bad as northern Europe. I am from England but have lived near Alicante for about 6 years and if you live here perminently you need to try and learn the language to really get the most out of the culture and the people. Certain things take a long time to get used to. For example the rules on almost everything changes regularly and if you are a foreigner you have to stand in line for hours for certain documents etc but on the whole, its a lovely place tyo live.
