Jackie m is being a bit simplistic about Playa Las Americas.
La Americas is just a small part of the southern Tenerife resort area and the problems she describes is mainly contained in one area of Las Americas called Veronicas.
Los Cristianos to Playa Adeje which includes Playa Las Americas creates a large resort area with lots of places where you enjoy a problem free holiday. |

I've heard good reviews from 'Hotel Ponderosa'. Its right near the beach, good night life, and within easy walking distance to shops, restaurants and the beach. I've been to Tenerife every year for the past 8 years and always stayed in the Paradise Monterey which is good and you get amazing views which I have really good pictures of if you want to email me I will send you links to the image hosting website. There is 2 parts to las americas, you dont want to be on the strip by veronicas. Try the Cleopatra, Parque santiago, conquistador, colon 2 , La siesta, Marc anthony, theses are all good in good locations, by the beach. Close enough to nightlife without being disturbed at night. |

Las Americas is a clean place but only if you want to spend your holiday with thousands of noisy teenagers who sleep most of the day and have parties all night with loud music, sex, drink and prostitutes - that's my opinion of Las America in July. It doesn't have the Spanish atmosphere and if full of Africans. |
