Of course they can although they usually don't want to. I mean, most young people in Spain don't like bullfighting, is more of an old people thing, maybe with the exceptions of Pamplona, Madrid or AndalucĂa. The first women to become official bullfighter was Cristina Sánchez, who decided to retire some years ago. If you're interested, have a look at these sites:

I went to see a bullfight a couple of years ago and i saw a 15 year old girl bullfight, she was very graceful. |

There are several women who have made a name for themselves as toreras or novilleras.
Take for instance, Ana Infante.
Anyway, personally, I can't understand bullfighting. |
