I know the whole coast from Nerja to Estepona. It really depends on your budget. Marbella and Puerto Banus area will be expensive where as Torremolinos and Fuengirola will be less expensive. Wherever you go you will get great bars, clubs and restaurant.
Fuengirola may suit you best. It is easy to get to from Málaga airport. Just hop on the train unless you are provided with a shuttle.
The coast is probably what you are looking for but try and get to see the real Spain by getting away into the mountains. Take a day trip to Ronda and see how spectacular the place is. |

Without a doubt for value, places to go, bars, restaurants, entertainment, local transport and the general atmosphere of the place, Benalmadena and Arroyo de la Miel are hard to beat. For a very comprehensive guide to the area you must visit the following site, which really gives a very genuine insight into the place -

Gotta be Fuengirola!!! Lots of lovely bars and places to eat! Lots of these are down little streets and everyone sits outside together. It was great! |

If you want British bars, then go to Torremolinos, Benalmádena or Fuengirola. Go to Marbella if you want more of a Spanish holiday. You'll find it more expensive in Marbella though. |

For a resort busy with English people, English pubs, English bars and English cafes try Fuengirola, it's Blackpool in the sun.
For a busy place with lots of bars, restaurants but a more exclusive atmosphere try Marbella or Puerto Banus. Both are more like London, a little more expensive but cleaner, posher and warmer.
Fro somewhere in between try Benalmadena. |

Your place is in the Torremolinos - Benalmadena area. Lots of spots for drinking, dancing and dining over there. |

If you are looking for the cheap(er), touristy, party-town type of holiday, then try the Torremolinos, Fuengirola area. Marbella is beautiful, but it's the pricey area where the jet-set hang out. |
