Book the flights separately, it should work out cheaper. Try easyJet or Ryanair (although they are really bad for extra charges, so be carefull). or BA or Iberia should do some decent prices.
For accommodation, you could rent an apartment - you'd get much more room than staying in a hotel. Try sites like holidaylettings.co.uk, OwnersDirect.com etc. Or google 'apartments in Barcelona' and see what you get.

Book your flight separately, it's much cheaper. See what airlines travel from an airport near you to Barcelona or Girona airports.
For accommodation, try www.hostelworld.com, but do read the reviews. Barcelona is expensive, so if you are shopping around for cheap accommodation, you will find it but it might not be the nicest. |

As for flights, try the bargain European carriers: RyanAir (www.ryanair.com), EasyJet (www.easyjet.com), etc. A website you could try is www.wegolo.com, but that's not always cheapest... Also take a peek at www.kayak.com to get an idea of what airlines and price range you're in.
Be careful though... RyanAir flies into two airports it calls "Barcelona". However, one is in Girona and the other is in Reus. Not the other side of the country, but not in Barcelona, either. |

You could find a cheap package to Salou and catch the train in. Hotels in Barcelona are not cheap. |
