The cheapest journey from Tarifa to Sevilla is by bus with Transportes Generales Comes. Bus No. 309 runs between La Linea and Sevilla, 4 times a day, departing from Tarifa at 0830, 1200, 1430 & 1700hrs. The journey time is between 3hrs & 3hrs 30 mins and the single cost is 16.90 euros.
Although the current timetable only runs until the 30th September, it is very likely to remain the same after that date, as these times were also the same during 2007.
If in doubt it might pay to e-mail the bus company at the address given. |

Dirt cheap would be walking or hitching, neither of which is likely to be what you're really looking for. Nor, I'm sure, is a bike.
Your best bet is the bus, or what the Brits call a coach...like Trailways/Greyhound in the US.
Check for bus schedules.

There is a bus four times a day, however prices are not published on the internet since this line is not part of the regional transport consortium. The distance from Tarifa to Sevilla amounts to 206 kilometers. I checked on the Spanish website of the consortium. They want a fee of 4,85 € for a 70 kilometer distance, so it should not be that expensive.
However, you may inquire the price by e-mail: commercial@tgcomes.es
Timetable: Tarifa (depart) – Sevilla (arrive)
08:30 – 11:30; 12:00 – 15:30; 14:30 – 17:30; 17:00 – 20:00

You have to take a bus from Tarifa to Cadiz. there are 13 per day and it's over 2 hours. This is a slow winding road along the ocean. Cadiz is a nice town to spend a night.
---------------
From Cadiz you can take another bus to Sevilla, or if you are spending the night, you can take a train. Train from Cadiz to Seville is 9.80 € and takes 2 hours.
---------------
Once you are in Sevilla, you can take the high speed train to Madrid. That's not the cheapest way, but it is by far the most fun. The train is going at 300 kmh. If possible you should try and see Cordoba along the way (a few hours should do the trick).
==================
In an emergency there is 2 trains per day from Cadiz straight to Madrid (one in the morning and one in late afternoon). The trip is 5 hours and costs 65 euros. This would be tragic since you would be missing some of the most beautiful cities in the world. However, if you are out of money and out of time it's a good backup. |

Sue is right, hitch-hike it, that is the only "dirt cheap" way to do it. Bus will be inexpensive and that's your best option. |
