C

City in Spain called Saldua. ?

Does anyone know of a little city or town in Spain called Saldua? If so, can you share with me any info on the place or a place where I can do some research on that town or city.
Additional Details
I have the spelling correct. It is my last name and I was told by my great-grandfather that there was a small town named after our family in Spain. He has passed on now and I'm just trying to research some family history.

I found links to a NAME Saldua, meaning Salt Lick or salinas. It's Basque.

*edit* It's interesting...I have friends who tell me that their surnames are the names of small towns...as you have said, so it would make sense for there to be a town (an old one) by that rule...yet, as I said, I couldn't find any town by that name...only the surname...and it IS a latin-based word...except the sites I found said that the name proceeds from the Basque region...curious, that.

hilverchas
Can't find any place for you with this name...............only a rather famous structural engineer - Benajamin Saldua, I think you might mean the word....
Saluda this word is in general used in terms of greeting...
Saludo, Saludar, Salud..................check your spelling for the name of the place.........

Nofret
There isnÂŽt any place called like this in Spain.

Xabier
That would be a strange name for a town... they would rename jajajaja !! Miren Itxaso SaldĂșa he was one of the leaders of ETA a terrist group which promotes Freedom for North Spain/South Western France

and Salt-Lick from where animals lick from in Basque is gatzontzi ^^ no relation xD

Edit:
If their was it would have changed it's name =) Just as all monuments of Franco have/are being removed from towns there is only one left! and the road names being changed SaldĂșa would not be a very good name for a town as this man is a terrist. Do you know what region it is in ?? I looked on Google Earth and their is a road called SaldĂșa in my city Pamplona !! Sorry I can't help more, but if you know what region your family are from that will help =)
Did your grandfather say you are CatalĂ , Basque, Galician ?? There are many "nationalites" inside Spain and if you know which one of these you are from that will also help =)
