It's too general a question, so a general answer would be about 2000€ a month, but there are many factors why that could be more and just a few factors why it would be less. |

As a very general guide you would need around 1500 - 2000 euros a month to be comfortable. Note also that food and drink when eating out are a lot cheaper in Norther Spain and also the same would go for renting an apartment. |

How long is a peice of string??
This is virtually impossible to answer because we do not know your standard of living.
However, on average apartments in Madrid are a hell of a lot more expensive as its the capital (like London, it has all rents, depends on areas)
Comfortably to live here in Spain I would say you would need around 2000€ but I would be very surprised if you get paid anything near that, (there are exceptions of course) Most wages are well below that and around 1000€ to 1200€.

it would depend whether you mean just making ends meat bills covered or living comfrtably abl to shop when you want as the wages here are less but standard of living is high .a lot of peole who do live here have or are returning home or moving t other countries as it is not as cheap as it use to be also you have toremember that you need healthcare and schooling for your toddler.
an apartment can cost from 600 euros up.the rest would depend on what you want baby items ar expensive so nappies etc will boost your spend consideabley food again is expensive other than fish which is reasonable.clothes etc are expensive in madrid you have heating bills to pay in madrid as it does get cold in winter unlike the south of spain
gas is bottled around 15 euros a bottle lsts about 10 days with normal usage water dependant but for a family about 22 euros a week electricity dependent but normal usage around 170 every 2 months.
