Could anyone tell me about Almeria and Murcia?

Almeria airport is approx 5 miles from the centre of Almeria
Airlines Serving Airport: Aer Lingus, Air Berlin, Air Europa, Condor, Easyjet, Finnair, First Choice Airways, FlyBE, HapagFly, Iberia, LTU IntÂ´l, Monarch, MyTravel, Ryanair, Spanair
Local bus line 14 links the airport with the city centre, the fare price being 0,70. There are busses every half-hour in the daytime and every 45 minutes in the evening. Taxis are available to take you into the city centre. Car hire is available, the major companies Avis and Europcar are available.

Murcia Airport
Murcia-San Javier Airport (IATA: MJV, ICAO: LELC) is a military air base and civilian passenger airport located in San Javier, 17 miles south of Murcia, Spain. It is operated by Aena (Aeropuertos Espaoles y Navegacin Area, or Spanish Airports and Aereal Navigation), the Spanish airport authority.
The Murcia airport can receive airplanes up to the size of Boeing 757 or 767. It has been declared fire category 5 by the IATA, and it has one ambulance available. Because Murcia is a popular destination for charter groups, the airport is flown by a number of charter airlines.
Over the last few years, Murcia Airport has become busier, thanks to the arrival of several low-cost airlines.
Flying to Murcia-San Javier from somewhere like the UK gives one the choice of six airlines offering regular, scheduled flights from 11 different UK airports. In addition to some of the airlines mentioned below you can also fly to Murcia on Easyjet, Flybe, jet2.com and Ryanair. Although Murcia Airport is on the Costa Calida it lends itself well to people traveling to the southern tip of the Costa Blanca, particularly resort towns such as Torrevieja.

Much of Murcia's charms come from the region being off the beaten track - at least as far as mass tourism is concerned. But even so, it is remarkably easy to get to and to get around.

There are airports in both almeria province and murcia......depending where abouts you are staying in each, depends how far away from the airports or coast you are.

Almeria is very mountiny (thats not a word is it?)...try again;..in almeria there are a lot of mountains and small spanish villages in the mountains, very andalucian style!.....its very 'old' spain if you know what i mean. it can get very windy in almeria though, so sometime the flights re-direct to other airports.AlmerÃa airport is about 10 Kilometres east of the city centre of almeria. The transport is good in almeria city, tehre are penty of buses and trains to other provinces and taxis. But the more you go inland obviously the harder it is to get around. but there are still quite a few buses going threw all the main villages,from there you can get tio the smaller villages.again depending on what part of almeria you are, you can be 5 mins from the coast or 3 hours from it!

Murcia; I am currently trying to buy a house in murcia, (so i recomend it!!) again in murcia there is an airport.the airport is about 5km from murcia center. Murcia is very big on cultivation, its where a lot of europes citrus fruits and olives come from.The importance of the city over the years can be seen in its churches, palaces and other public buildings. To see Murcian Baroque at its best, visit the churches of La Merced, San Juan de Dios, San Nicolas or San Miguel and buildings such as the Bishop 5 Palace or the Palacio Fontes.
Murcia tries its best to preserve its historical treasures as well as allowing visitors/tourists to see them.
in murcia you can be staying right on the coast or inland which can be up to 2hrs away id say.
murcia is flatter than almeria. not so many mountains.

Hi
Almeria has its own airport, literally 10 minutes from the town. As with Murcia local transport is excellent, you can easily find the bus station and point ( if you don't speak Spanish) at where you want to go and they will either tell you where the timetable is or again point.
Murcia town is very historic and about 15 minutes drive from the city, as well as the buses trains are a good way of getting round Spain. There is a train station in Murcia not sure if you can get between Almeria and Murcia but I know it goes to Totana. The Spanish have a web site for hostels, saw it when I was last over but sorry didn't write it down.
Both cities are well worth a visit my favourite is Murcia.
