The place is good but Palma is 'only' a city, there is more to the Island than just here. There are hordes of English around and in many regards you get English everything (beer / food) but I rather feel that this defeats the adventure of taking a foreign holiday if all people want is English this English that. Now the Germans. Certainly they used to go there in big numbers and many of the 'better' hotels enjoyed the Germans more than English (The Germans were said to behave better than English drunks / lager louts!).
Palma is a very cosmopolitan city and so yes you will hear German but you will also hear French, Swedish, Norwegian, Dutch .......... |

yeah i went there last year - it was very German though - the resort we stayed in you could only get local info in German/Dutch/Spanish - i only got on there cuz my 2nd language is german |

I don't know how many English tourist go but I know there is lots of Scottish tourists there in the summer time. Palma itself is mainly for teenagers but Santa Ponsa is great for families, as is Alcudia. Any time I have been in July I haven't seen many Germans and the ones I saw spoke great English. |

palma is a lovely city and the locals are friendly it can be overwhelmed by the Brits in mid summer though |

There are many germans but mostly english. Different hotels cater for different nationalities, I think there would be many hotels that cater for the German Market.
Oh and err.. the Brits ar'nt too bad, infact very friendly :-) |

Palma is very popular with British and German tourists. The most British oriented resort on the island is Magaluf. |
