you need verbal consent or something other than that it is called kidnapping so don't get a charge like that for something as simple as letting the parent know that their child wants to go with your kid somewhere have a nice day. |

Yes you will need the mother to write down that she is allowing you to travel with (childs name) on such and such dates.
The airline may not ask to see it but if they do and you dont have it then the child wil not be able to travel
I have to do this when my childrens father takes them on holiday
its just to make sure if you were not to return with the child that you would be in trouble

You never know what could happen in today's world, so it couldn't hurt to have the parent of the child sign some kind of consent form. If that's not good enough, anyone questioning you could always phone the child's parents and confirm it. |

Yes, especially if you are leaving the country.
It happened to my friend when we were at immigration coming back to the UK, they wanted to see written proof that the child was allowed to travel with us. |

You don't need permission if you are not leaving the country, however, you should get a notarized statement authorizing you to act on behalf of the child in case of a medical emergency. |

Always be prepared and have all the relevent infomation regarding other peoples children. Not that anything should happen, but always make sure you have all the childs likes and dislikes, any allergies what medication, if any... The parent can write this all down for you. Enjoy your holiday. |
