Do old castle hotels in Spain have modern electricity and outlets? |

Yes, all hotels (or lets say 99.9% to be on the safe side) have outlets where you can charge your blackberry. The good news is that with cell phones you do not have to worry about the electrical current (110 or 220).
The only thing to look out for is that plugs in the US are flat, round in Spain and there are three (round) in the UK. It would be best if you bring your own plug-adaptor which costs about three dollars.
As for castles the only thing that comes to mind are the Paradores. They are castle hotels, but at the high end (good and expensive). There are also some private hotels in castles, but quality will vary. |

Hotels in Spain generally, are better than in most countries. Plugging in your blackberry should be no problem if you have a charger that you can plug into 220 / 240 volts. If you plug in a 110 volt charger, there will probably be a smell of burning! |

Spain is a modern European country, and all hotels have modern electrical outlets etc. Converted castles are among the most expensive hotels in Spain, usually 5 star, and will have everything you could ever want in a hotel. |

I'm sure any of the Paradores would.
Most hotels in Castles are pretty high class, and they would have all the amenities, but you should do a search on them to start, and if you don't find out that way, then contact them and ask.
Ummmm. as for your cell phone: FIRST you want to make sure you can even use it there, THEN make sure that you can use your chord to charge it there...must SAY that it can be used in 220V outlets. And THEN make sure you have an extra battery, just in case. OR you could do what my friend did. She bought a SOLAR charger. No problems with the voltage that way.
(I used a converter, and STILL blew out my battery!) |
