1st we need to make clear that Spain is in Europe, not Latin America (that would be countries from Central and South America like Honduras, Venezuela and Colombia). Both Spain and Latin American countries celebrate Christmas. But they celebrate the birth of Christ. Usually that means a family dinner, maybe a small gift for a child, and possibly going to mass. But they also celebrate el Dia de los Reyes or 3 Kings Day which is Jan.. 6th. The 12 days of christmas are those 12 days between Dec 25 and Jan 6. They follow the religious significance of the story, that they Kings showed up in Bethlehem with the "gifts" 12 days later. So Spanish children get the "mother load" of xmas toys/presents on January 6 (not Dec 25.)
Hope this helps! |

To begin with Spain is in Europe not Latin America.....and yes people in Spain celebrate christmas on the 25 dec.but they do not give presents, on the night of the 5 jan..families go and watch the procession of the arrival in their town of the 3 kings and then have a meal together. In the morning of the 6 th children awake to find their presents. |

The Spanish people are beginning to celebrate the 25th December more and more these days. Most families get-together for a large Christmas meal on the evening of the 24th December. The 25th December is now a holiday in Spain but only for that day, though some people stay away from work until the 7th January. Their traditional holiday is The Three Kings on the night of the 5th January followed by the 6th January.
You have to bear in mind this is Spain not Latin America |

Yes. Some celebrate on the 24th, some on the 25th. It's tradition to go to Midnight mass on the 24th and then open presents. But this is for Latin America; I'm not sure about Spain. |
