Sure, they do...there are a number of places that are interesting, both as beach resorts and as travelers' destinations (history, art, museums, culture, etc.)

They just don't have the reputation of places like Ibiza and Costa del Sol...try searching Northern Spain, San SebastiÃ¡n, Oviedo, Santander and Bilbao...

For those of you who don't get it, the asker isn't referring to the Mediterranean North of Spain, but the Atlantic coast.

It is, admittedly, a bit obscure, and more to the taste of the Spanish tourist, and those who like quieter holidays, and those who know the areas for their own reasons. Having studied or worked as, say, an Au Pair, in one of the towns would be one such reason.

Yes people here travel to northern spain in the summer time usually. its very nice and cool during the summer months. especially the areas of Asturias,Galicia, Cantabira and the Basque Country.. Its beautiful all year round, but cold during winter and cool during the summer.. you can always look each region up to learn more about the areas.. Enjoy..

Well the East coast above Barcelona is touristy.
The Western part (Gallicia, area around Santiago de Compostella) is not very touristic. It's my experience that a lot of Spanish people go there for a holiday. I think partly because the climate is a bit different. More rain, little less warm, much greener then other parts of Spain I have seen. No international direct flights there, so as a foreigner it's hard to get there unless you book connecting flights or are prepared to drive very far.
I can only talk about Gallicia, I love the area, it has a Celtic atmosphere/culture. The people have their own language that sounds very different from Spanish. The scenery is lovely, especially the west coast. Oh and if you love sea food..... ;-)
I would very much recommend to go there, it was one of the best holidays of my life.

Barcelona is a great city that is a popular tourist destination. The weather is good, but it depends on when you go.
