Do the people of Spain mind having Mallorca, Costa del Sol and other areas dominated by the British?

A small number of Spaniards have benefited by the mass influx of UK citizens buying up land and houses and forcing Spanish Houses out of the reach of the average Spanish worker, Spanish workers are still less well off than their UK counterpart and resent being second class citizens in their own country so yes they do mind and mind very much.

Where you have ex pats who integrate, there is no problem, but the spanish do resent the brits, germans swedes etc, turning areas into their own enclaves and not bothering to integrate into Spanish life.
There is not the resentment as there is in the UK with foreigners coming into the Uk and claiming benefits and getting housing, that does not exist here, if you don;t pay into the system, you get nowt out! Simple.
Many spanish are a shade narrow minded though as sometimes they fail to see that it is the money the other nationailites have brought in that supports the spanish economy and creates jobs, for example in the building trade. While the spanish may moan about their land being invaded by urbanisations and vast areas of developemnt, they tend to forget its their own mayors that have given the permission to build. Many ex pats pay taxes on their income as well as paying a higher rate of property purchase tax and having 5% of the proceeds of any house sale taken in tax as well....Spain has done very well out of the foreign invasion

not at all! Massive source of revenue. We're all very welcoming people anyway!

According to a survey carried out by a local newspaper in Mallorca a few years ago, about 30% of locals think that they would be better off if there were no tourists.

Amazing. They seem to forget that prior to tourism, there was extreme poverty on the island.

Many, many Spaniards believe that the tourists misbehave while on vacation to places that you listed...do things that they would not consider doing in their own coutries. So, the feeling I get is that they hope the tourists stay in those areas. Nonetheless, they recognize that it brings a lot of money and employment possibilities.

some of the locals resent it cause it ruins the area for them in someways raising property prices and drunken louts around all the time etc. but the people working in hotels restaurants bars and general tourism welcome the income. its like here we like the immigrants that put in but resent the ones that take out. a friend of mine comes from alicane and ive met spanish and ex pats out in spain.

In 16 years of living in Spain I have never heard any Spaniard say a bad word about Brits living in Spain, Brits on holiday is another story entirely!!! I myself really hate the Brits that come to Spain and complain about the system, the people or the laws here. I think if you want things the same as the UK then stay there. Wherever you go abroad to live you must be prepared to mix and accept the way things are, and then the locals will respect you for that.
I think mainland Spain is different to Mallorca, where the property is now unaffordable for the locals due to the price increases caused by foreign buyers. That is a shame and I can understand them being upset.
My son in law is Spanish and he works in the tourist industry so he loves the Brits (they keep him in work) and of course he loves his mother in law too!!!!

Tourists are very welcome in Spain but we do not like people like Tall Paul´s. He thinks of the Spain of General Franco. That kind of attitude is the kind of attitude most of Brits have when they come here. They think we survive because of them, they do not realise spanish economy is growing every year not only because of Tourism. Think about big spanish companies like Telefonica, Zara (Inditex) and Santander. They have nothing to do with tourism.
Small fisherman villages will be better off without people like you but I do not mind if you come to Spain because you will probably stay at the swimming pool all day and the rest of the day getting drunk at the hotel bar. Nice view of holidays.. enjoy
