i would prefer you to talk about the followings.
Barri Gotico - Barcelona- Barri Gotico or the Gothic Quarter of Barcelona is not to be missed if anybody want a trip back to Spain’s rich history with some interesting shopping opportunities thrown in. Situated North East of Las Rambla and housing some of the best Gothic buildings in Spain Barri Gotico is laid out around the Placa de Sant Jaume Square. Highlighting Barcelona’s prosperous origin, within the Barri Gotico quarter is the magnificent Cathedral of Barcelona one of Spain’s biggest Gothic buildings, the Catalan parliament or ‘Parlament de Catalunya’, Palau Reial and ‘l`Ajuntament’ the significant old town hall. The buildings date back to the 14th and 15th century and are a treat to explore as are the remains of Roman walls which are to be reconstructed and surround the quarter. Barri Gotico consists of narrow streets, alleys and public squares where weekly performances of the Sardana Dance can be observed. Plenty of cafes, restaurants and shops line the narrow streets of Barri Gotico, check out the Els Quatre Gats-the Four Cats-a historical cafe that was once haunted by the likes of Pablo Picasso while Picasso’s museum El Museu Picasso is also found close by. Renowned for its tourist shops along Carrer Ferran the Gothic Quarter has much to be explored with charming old shops doting its squares it’s quite easy to find good bargains in lace, hand crafts and even garments.
Las Ramblas - A colourful maze of five streets and a large pedestrian boulevard make up Las Ramblas. Las Ramblas is a 1.2km stretch starting from the Southern strip of Port Vell and ending at the Northern end of Placa Catalunya with Barri Gotico and Raval on either side of the square. The tree lined Las Ramblas Boulevard is ideal for relaxing and enjoying the outdoors, with artist ready to paint your portrait or caricature, living statues and mimes making up some interesting entertainment. If its period buildings you love check out the 18th century Rocco mansion-Palau de la Virreina. Shopping is a treat here with the Mercat de la Boqueria market offering all sorts of products that has made Barelona one of Spain’s premier shopping venues. Of course there are many more shopping venues here and come conveniently divided as the La Rambla des les Flors-a colourful site for flower stands, the animal section where birds are the main attraction and the section of Las Ramblas housing La Bouqueria famous for its art fairs and the Gran Teatre del liceu-the opera house. Other attractions in Las Ramblas include the Wax Museum, the Christopher Columbus Monument and strictly for adults the Erotica Museum. A welcome feature here is that the streets of Las Ramblas are mostly one way or pedestrianised that you can wander about at your own pace enjoying the sunny weather and colourful sights that make up the vibrant quarter of Las Ramblas.
Bullfighting Museum - Barcelona- Curios about the Spanish sport of bullfighting? Check out the Bullfighting Musium in Barcelona. By the way, this is, as close you will get to the actual event as Barcelona has officially denounced bullfighting. The museum is housed in a modernist building, which reflects the rich styles of Mudejar architecture infamous for its exposed bricks and colourful polychrome tiles. The Bullfighting Musium spaced between two rooms has a thorough collection of artefacts representing this ancient Spanish sport with old publicity posters, branding irons, coloured ribbons denominating a certain bulls breeder, rejoneadores (mounted bullfighters),and the magnificent costumes worn by past matadors. Another significant exhibit is the heads of well known bulls, (who obviously went down with a pretty good fight). There are also a number of old photographs here which seem to take you back to the ring while theBullfighting Musium also includes an extensive library and some old documents which are quite interesting and offer a through insight to the sport of Spanish bullfighting.
Casa Milla- Casa Milla located in Provenca Barcelona more commonly known as ‘Las Pedrera’ meaning the quarry is one of renowned architect Antonio Gaudis greatest and last creations before he moved onto the infamous Sagrada Familia. Renowned as one of Barcelona’s most visited attractions Casa Milla was dubbed a World Heritage by UNESCO in 1984. Reflecting a change in Gaudi’s style the Casa Milla is built in curves from the inside to the out. The rooms are found surrounding a vast courtyard while the unique and marvellous sculptured chimneys of this building are not to be missed. Colourful tiles adorn the roof terrace which like most of the building is ‘wavy’ and sports a series of unequal arches. Also worth investigating are the massive sculptured columns on the noble floor while Christian symbols seem to be etched into practically every carving within Casa Milla. Casa Milla is well worth a visit as you will see why the monument astounded the citizens of Barcelona since |

A friend of mine said it has the openness and beauty of a small town. It's not like any cities in America; but that's how most European cities are. Alas. I don't know any specific details. Sorry. |

You can get all that online...try searching "Barcelona". There are many interesting tidbits if you just do a little legwork.
You know the Olympics were held there in 1992? You could do a lot with that. |
