I have heard most of spain is 16, but some regions vary.
Im 17 and will be going out there in the summer with some friends....
I was just wondering what the drinking age is there.

Two years ago it was 16 but its now 18.
I think most place though are quite lenient.

The drinking age in Europe is 18, irrespective of which EU country you live in. However, the culture in some countries may vary. In Spain it is not unusual to see young kids having one glass of wine with their Sunday lunch in a restaurant. Before anyone says how bad that may seem, let me remind them that Spain does not have binge drinking as do some other EU countries.
As for yourself, I doubt anyone will question you, but don't get drunk. The Spanish police aren't as soft as the UK police. |

Yes 16 in most bars and Discotecas for Spanish, usual the tourist ones impose and age of 18
but they have a sign before you enter the discotecas... if they ask you for ID Which is rare |

I don't know but the worse thing it's I'm Spaniard and from Murcia! I used to think that legal age is 18 years. I don't live in Murcia now, but my cousins there haven't got any problem for drinking or entering the clubs even when they're under 18. I'm talking especifically about my 17-years old cousin. She never had a problem in Murcia when going out. Few bars and discos ask you your ID except the largest ones and even so it's rare. So... unless you look under 16, I don't think you will have problems. |

The legal drinking age in Murcia, in Spain, and in the European Union is 18. (I think it's a guideline in the EU, but it's law in Spain). Parents are allowed to buy drinks for their children, even in a bar, I believe. |

Spain does not have a drinking age as such.Bars have imposed the age of 16 though. |
