It will start at Easter but expect it to be chilly at night and maybe a bit wet as easter is so early this season. Not everywhere will be open that early but at least there will be a little of everything. Port Aventura is open nearly all year and will be up and running by then I think.

If Easter is early, there can be a quiet month after the Easter weekends.

Port Aventura seems to be open all year. Peak season is July / August. Presently, the weather is unusually warm AND DRY WITH AROUND 18 DEGREES C.

It starts at Easter but will still be a bit cooler then. If you are going for a holiday its better to wait til May/June. But if you are going to live there and want to get a job then just before Easter is best.

The summer season on the Costa Brava this includes Salou normally begins in June, however a lot of places open for the Easter but then normally goes quite again till June.
If you look in a tour operators summer catalogue this will give you a guide. It gets quite cold there in the winter at times and rains. I moved from the mainland to Gran Canaria and even though the weather here is normally good in the winter we still are not very busy at this time of year,we start to get busy in June. If you go have a great time.
