Does anyone kow how to travel to Cáceres in Extremadura? |
Am planning to go to WOMAD in May, and flying to spain, havent booked my ticket yet so any help would be so useful! Which airport is best to go from? Madrid or Seville?? And how to get there by train or bus?
Also anyone who has been to Womad before which places are best for accomodation for a student with a tight budget?? :)

Train from Madrid

=) it is quite cheap
It take's 4 hours from Madrid. the Train leaves on 1st May (I'm not sure when WOMAD is, but it's around the beginging of May)
and for the 1st of May - one way - it is around 25€ each way. On this journy you don't save much by booking online, but I'd alway's reccomend booking online to "reserve" your seats. Incase MANY people are doing what your doing
I looked from Sevilla, and you MUST change at Madrid to get to Cáceres

Airport definitely Madrid. For the train to Cáceres look into www.renfe.es
All trains, except the last one, leave from Puerta de Atocha. Make your reservation in advance from the web page.
For accomodation look into this page:
http://turismo.caceres.es/
It is available in English too, in case you don´t speak Spanish. The Turism Office will help you in finding something cheap and good.

You go to the train station, and get a ticket to Cáceres. It's really not complicated. You just walk up to the ticket window, and ask for a ticket, and pay what they tell you to pay. If you don't actually know any Spanish, then just say Cáceres? with a question mark...they'll take care of you.
If I remember correctly, it takes roughly 2 hours.
You can check all that on the renfe.es website. Again, if you don't know enough Spanish, just click on the British flag...the translation is passable. |
