You need to be 18. Anything else would be breaking the law. Do you really want to risk being taken to jail during your vacation?

18, but you don't have to show ID anywhere, in Spain and Portugal, people are a lot more relaxed concerning alcohol. It's a cultural thing. You won't look good if you get drunk though. Spanish people know how to hold their liquor. |

18 years old - licence owners cannot sell alcohol to those under 18, however there are some bars that sell via third persons i.e. they (under law) are supposed to ask for the buyers id card if they feel they are under aged, but if a mate whose 18 buys for a minor they feel they haven't contravened the law. |
