I can't imagine that EVERYONE in Spain or EVERYONE in Russia is a racist.

I can understand your fears as a minority but I've never heard that they're known to be racist. Most people in Spain are caucasian but it's diverse so you may not attract as much attention as you would in some countries. In Russia minorities are rare so you would probably get attention but I've never heard that they harbor prejudices.

A lot countries don't have the same notions of political correctness, it's not the same thing as hate, they're just... less politically correct. I'm not sure if Spain is like that.

I lived in Mexico and I can tell you that I've never seen any racial hatred, they're not politically correct as a rule and if you look different, you will attract attention. It's not considered highly inappopriate to make observations about someone's appearance but I've never known anyone to be treated horribly for being a racial minority. Maybe Spain is similar.
I can't imagine a whole country being racist, however.

Spaniards are not politically correct but there are no Spanish songs like that lovely, haunting song 'strange fruit' in Spain. It's an American song. Perhaps you know it?

To get down to the nitty gritty, Spain is NOT known for its racist remarks. They do call black people '*****' but they call me `rubio'. So what?

Russians do not see black people at home and so are likely to stare. So what. In Africa the children in the bush want to touch the hair and skin of Muzungus. Big deal. Get a life.!
