Spain is pretty similar to most Westernized countries now, in that they do much the same as everyone else. Small towns may have their own little rituals, but not the cities. Most children are baptised when very young and then have their First Communion when they are about 10 years old, which is considered a quiet, family affair. The Spanish have strong family ties. At Christmas, the most important day is Christmas Eve when family will get together for a late dinner and then perhaps go on to Midnight Mass.
When a baby is born, it will usually be named after the mother or father, unless they really hate their name.

You have to ask your question better... in Spain we don't sacrafice every second child xD so I don't think there are rituals... if you mean somthing like comming of age
here in the North when you are 13 you kill a sheep with your father... but I think only people who live on a farm do it... I didn't do it most of my friend's didn't... but I do no some people who did.

Edit: siesta and eating at 22h00 isin't that special... but we do wake up eairler... generally the main meal of the day is Lunch... but just as your country people are busy now... =/ Tuesday & Thursday I don't have a Siesta because my day is too busy I have classes through-out the day |
